A man who used a decanter set to assault a police officer at a Glasgow strip club has been jailed for 18 months.

Jordon Bradley, 25, pounced on PC David Moffat, 26, at Diamond Dolls in the city centre last October.

Bradley, an alleged suspect in another matter, smashed the plastic decanter off the head of PC Moffat as he tried to arrest him.

Bradley pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to the assault to PC Moffat’s injury and acting in a threatening or abusive manner towards police.

The court heard Bradley was in a private booth at the strip club in Mitchell Street.

Police officers were also in attendance dealing with an unrelated matter.

PC Moffat approached Bradley’s booth and attempted to arrest him as he matched the description of a suspect.

Prosecutor Lorri Pidgeon said: “Bradley shouted ‘Who the f**k are you?.’

“He grabbed a plastic decanter set from the table in front of him and smashed it off PC Moffat’s head.”

PC Moffat shielded himself from further blows and “narrowly” dodged another decanter thrown at him.

The pair became entangled and rolled about on the floor of the booth.

PC Moffat was punched before one of the door stewards stepped in to separate the fight.

Bradley was later arrested by officers still at the scene dealing with the other matter.

Bradley shouted: “I am going to slit your throats” as he was put into a police van.

PC Moffat attended Glasgow Royal Infirmary and was given painkillers.

Lawyer, David McCaig, defending, told the court Bradley was innocent of other matter he was arrested for.

He added: “Mr Bradley didn't know about the incident, all he knew was a police officer was going to arrest him when he hadn’t done anything.”

Bradley was caged by Sheriff Joan Kerr, who told him: “You assaulted a police officer and this is always a serious matter.

“When I take into account what I see in your previous convictions, the most appropriate disposal is custody.”
