Man seriously injured after stabbing in house in Hurlford

The 36-year-old was attacked by a group of men who broke into the property in the early hours of the morning

A man has been left in hospital with serious injuries after he was stabbed in a house in Hurlford, East Ayrshire.

The 36-year-old was attacked by several men who broke into the property in Kirrimuir Avenue at around 2.30am on Wednesday April 27th.

Police and Ambulance were called and the injured man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he is being treated for stab wounds.

Hospital staff describe his condition as serious.

Detective Sergeant Sarah Holland at Kilmarnock Police Station said: “Our enquiries are at an early stage into this incident and work is ongoing to gather more information on the circumstances and further detail on the men responsible for this attack.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area of Kerrimuir Avenue early on Wednesday morning who heard any disturbance or witnessed anything suspicious. We would also ask anyone who has dash-cam or personal footage that may assist our ongoing investigation to come forward.

“There are additional police patrols in the area to provide reassurance following this incident and anyone with concerns should speak to officers.”
