An investigation's underway after a man was left with serious injuries following a robbery last night.

The 25-year old was approached by three men in Old Kilpatrick who attacked and robbed him of his laptop and a sum of cash.

It happened at around 5.35 pm as he was walking through 'Lusset Glen' between Kilpatrick Train Station and Dumbarton Road, Old Kilpatrick.

He was left with serious facial injuries and is still receiving treatment at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

The first suspect's described as being 5 ft 10 and of a stocky build, wearing a blue hooded top with a grey jogging bottoms. The second is around 5 ft 7 and of a slim build wearing a grey hooded top and red tracksuit bottoms. The third is said to be around 6 ft 2 and very skinny, wearing a blue hooded top.

Detective Constable Imran Abuzar, Clydebank CID, said:

"The man had just got off the train at Kilpatrick Train Station and was cutting through 'Lusset Glen' towards Dumbarton Road, when he was approached and then robbed by the three men. They demanded his computer and money and then attacked him leaving him with a broken jaw and other injuries which will require surgery.

"We know that a member of the public shouted over at his attackers to get them to stop, however, he was threatened by them too. We would ask that he contact police as soon as he can.

"Officers are checking CCTV and liaising with British Transport Police colleagues to try and identify the men responsible. We know that this area is a popular short cut and is used by people out walking their dogs, so if you were in that area, or maybe saw the three suspects hanging about prior to the attack or running off afterwards, then please phone us.
