Man injured in serious assault in Dumbarton

The incident happened on Friday evening, Police are appealing for information

A man is recovering after a serious assault in Dumbarton on Friday evening.

The incident happened around 7.40pm on December 20, on Bankhead Road at the junction with Townhead Road.

A 69 year old man was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police are searching for a suspect described as being a white male, aged around 15-16 years old, of slim build, with dark, curly hair.

He was seen wearing a red top and dark shorts.

Police appeal

Detective Constable Iain McGill said: “Enquiries are ongoing, and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact us.

“We also ask anyone driving in the area at the time who may have dash-cam footage to come forward.”
