Man in serious condition in hospital after serious assault in Hamilton

Detectives at Wishaw are continuing inquiries and appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted in Hamilton earlier today.

At around 9.45am on Monday morning, the 36 year-old man was seriously assaulted in Albert Terrace. The injured man was taken by ambulance to Wishaw General Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. Hospital staff are describing his condition as serious.

Detective Inspector Kenny Dalrymple of Wishaw Police Office said: "Our inquiries are at an early stage into the circumstances surrounding this incident, however at this stage we believe that the 36 year-old man was the intended victim.

"Officers are carrying out inquiries in the local area and are gathering CCTV footage to find out more information on this attack.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Albert Terrace around 9.45am this morning who witnessed this incident, or who has any information that will help our ongoing investigation.”
