Man held in Renfrew attack inquiry released from custody

A man who was arrested in connection with an alleged sex attack on a teenage girl in a town-centre park has been released from custody.

A man who was arrested in connection with an alleged sex attack on a teenage girl in a town-centre park has been released from custody.

The 30-year-old was arrested and detained on Thursday in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 15-year-old in Robertson Park, Renfrew, at about 10.45pm on Monday November 14.

He was due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Friday but was instead freed from custody.

A spokesman for the Crown Office said: "The procurator fiscal received a report concerning a 30-year-old man in connection with an alleged incident on November 14.

"After full and careful consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case, he was liberated from custody pending further inquiries and did not appear in court."
