Man held in Germany over alleged murder of restaurant owner returned to Scotland

A man who was arrested in Germany for the alleged murder of a restaurant owner in Ayr more than 20 years ago has been transferred to Scotland.
36-year-old Ansar Shah, who ran the Armaan Brasserie Indian restaurant, was stabbed in a seafront car park on October 4 1993.
A 51-year-old man was transferred to Scotland on Tuesday following his arrest in Frankfurt on November 9 in connection with the death of Mr Shah.
Police Scotland, the Crown Office and the UK National Crime Agency were involved in the joint operation.
Europol and French and German authorities also assisted and he was arrested by Police Scotland officers after being transferred to the UK.
Police Scotland said a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
