Man found injured in Govanhill street

A man has been seriously injured in the south side of Glasgow.

A man has been seriously hurt in an incident in the south side of Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to Butterbiggins Road in Govanhill at around 1.15pm.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and the area was closed while police carry out inquires.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Officers were called to reports of an injured man in Butterbiggins Road at around 1.15pm on Friday.

"Officers attended and a man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

"The road is closed and inquires are on-going."
