Man found injured in a bus stop in the Cowcaddens area of Glasgow
He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he is in a critical condition.
A man is in a critical condition in hospital after he was found lying injured in the street in Glasgow.
Emergency services were called to a bus stop in Garscube Road in the Cowcaddens area around 7.10am on Saturday morning.
He is being treated at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
Officers have cordoned off the area and are continuing enquiries to establish what has happened to the man.
Enquiries carried out so far show a woman at the bus stop, getting on a bus between 5:30 and 5:45am this morning. Officers are appealing for that lady to contact them as she could have vital information which could assist them.
Detectives are also liaising with bus companies for information on what buses use that route. CCTV from in and around the area will also be reviewed.
Detective Inspector Peter Sharp said: ''A man has been found seriously injured and it’s important we find out what happened to him. We need to piece together the man’s movements and establish when he got to the bus stop and the circumstances of what happened. I am appealing to anyone who may have been in the area in the early hours of this morning to contact us with any information which could assist our enquiries. No matter how insignificant it may seem, please do get in touch.''
Anyone with information is asked to call officers at the city centre police station via 101, quoting incident number 0702 of Saturday, 4 January, 2020.
