Detectives are appealing for information after a man was found dead in a house in Gartcosh on Tuesday 30 October 2018.

Police attended the property at 15 Slakiewood Avenue around 12.50pm and discovered the body of a man.

He can now be named as 51-year-old Stephen Anderson from Garthamlock. Relatives are aware.

Following a post mortem examination, further tests are to be carried out, however detectives are treating the death as suspicious.

Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident, with detectives examining CCTV and speaking to local residents.

Detective Inspector Grant MacLeod from Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team (WEST) said: "Mr Anderson’s family have been left completely devastated by his death and it is absolutely vital that anyone who can help us provide them with answers comes forward.

"I would like to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Slakiewood Avenue between 8pm on Monday 29 October, and 12.50pm the following day when his body was found, and ask them to please get in touch.

"If you saw anyone arriving or leaving the house where Mr Anderson was discovered, or someone acting at all suspicious in the area, contact the police. No matter whether you think your information is significant or not, let our team of detectives determine that, as even the smallest detail could be important.

"I would also ask anyone who was in the company of Mr Anderson between that time period, or who has any information about his movements in the lead up to his death, to get in touch.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact the Major Investigation Team (WEST) via 101."
