Man fighting for his life after he and 15-year-old boy attacked on Lanark bus
The 35 year old remains in critical condition in hospital
A man is in critical condition in hospital after being seriously assaulted on a bus in Lanark.
The incident happened at around 11.10pm on July 26, when a 35-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy boarded the bus in Kirkmuirhill.
Both were taken to hospital with serious injuries, with the man remaining in hospital, while the boy has since been released.
Police are searching for a man they believe could assist them with enquiries.
The man is described as being white, aged 18-25, wearing black shorts, a two-tone hooded jacket with a grey upper half and a black lower half, and a black baseball cap.
He boarded the bus at Abbeygreen, near to New Trows Road, Lesmahagow, and exited the bus on Vere Road, near to Strathhaven Road in Kirkmuirhill, where he was last seen.
Police appeal
Detective Chief Inspector Susie Cairns said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened and we are appealing for help.
“Anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened is asked to get in touch.
“We are also asking people to check their CCTV and if they have captured anything that could assist with our investigation then to please make contact with officers.”
