A woman woke in the early hours of this morning to find a man exposing himself in her flat in Govan.

Police say the suspect fled through the communal stairwell of the tenement block on Elizabeth Street after the women shouted at him.

He is described as white, aged in his early 20s, with short brown hair, of slim build and around 5ft 7ins and spoke with a Scottish accent. He was wearing a dark coloured jogging top and blue jogging bottoms.

Detective Sergeant Larry Dempsey, of Govan CID, said: “This was an upsetting experience and fortunately the woman was not injured.

“The man left via the communal stair area and I am appealing to anyone who may have seen him to get in touch.

“If you saw this man acting suspiciously in the area, or have private CCTV that could assist with our investigation, then please contact us.”
