A man has died after getting into difficulty in water at the Falls of Falloch.

Rescue teams were called out to the beauty spot near Crianlarich on Saturday evening, but the 24-year-old couldn't be saved.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to concerns for a person near Falls of Falloch at around 5.20pm on Saturday, 9 July, 2022.

"Emergency services attended and the body of a 24-year-old man was recovered from the water by the Police Scotland Dive and Marine Unit.

"There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."

Last summer, 11 people were rescued from the spot in a single day, after being trapped by rising water levels.
