Man dies in Kilmarnock flat fire
Emergency services were called to Orchard Street around 2.35am on Friday 23rd December 2016.
A man has died following a blaze at a flat in Kilmarnock.
Emergency services were called to Orchard Street around 2.35am on Friday 23rd December 2016.
The fire was extinguished and the body of the man was found inside.
He is yet to be formally identified.
A police statement says, "Enquiries are at an early stage and a joint investigation will be carried out with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service to establish the cause of the fire, which at this time is not thought to be suspicious.
"A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
