Police appeal for witnesses after man dies in Motherwell crash

The 52-year-old was pronounced dead at hospital after the incident in the town centre

A man’s died after a crash in the centre of Motherwell today.

It happened around 1.10pm on Windmillhill Street at the junction with Airbles Road and involved a silver Toyota Corolla.

The driver, a 52-year-old man, was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Sergeant Andrew Coutts said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died.

“Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us.

“We also ask anyone with dashcam footage of the area at the time to come forward.”
