Man dies in M8 crash

A man has died after a crash on the M8 on Friday afternoon.

He was pronounced dead at the scene of the pile up near the Riddrie junction.

A black Jaguar XF collided with a number of vehicles before coming to a stop on the hard shoulder around 2.30pm.

The 71-year-old driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene and his family have been informed. No one else was injured.

Anyone who may have seen what happened or who has dash-cam footage that could help with the investigation is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 2104 of Friday, 13 November.
