Man arrested and charged after Greenock death

Detectives investigating the death of that man found in flat in Greenock have arrested and charged a 29-year-old man.

Emergency services were called to Nelson Street at approximately 5.45am on Sunday, where the fatally injured man was found.

The man, who has not been identified, died at the scene.

Police Scotland say they are treating the death as suspicious.

A statement from Police Scotland said: A post-mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death however police are treating it as suspicious at this time.

"Detective Inspector Linda Dunn at Greenock CID would like to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Nelson Street, Greenock between midnight and 5.45am this morning, Sunday 24 March 2019 and who may have witnessed anything suspicious.''
