A man has died after an attack in the Foxbar area of Paisley late last night.

A man has died after an attack in the Foxbar area of Paisley late last night.

At around 23:20 police were called to Tweed Avenue to reports a man had been stabbed.

The 31-year-old was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, where he later died.

Officers are carrying out door to door enquires and looking at CCTV footage

Detective Superintendent Allan Burton from Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Teams said:

“A man has died following a violent attack which took place in the middle of the street and it is absolutely imperative that we trace the despicable individual responsible.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in Tweed Avenue, or the surrounding area, between 2230 and 0030 hours last night to please come forward.

"No matter whether you think you have any significant information, let our officers determine that, as you may be able to assist with the investigation.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Teams via 101 and quote incident number 4537/23.

"Alternatively you can call CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence.
