Man dies after being knocked down on M8

A man has died after being knocked down on the M8 in Glasgow.

The 41-year-old was hit by a Vauxhall Astra on the eastbound carriageway near the on-slip from the M77, around 7:25pm on Wednesday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was not injured.

A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Sergeant Jon Mochan from Glasgow’s Road Policing Unit based at Helen Street said: “I am appealing for any witnesses to the crash to contact us, or anyone who seen a man walking on the motorway, as they may have information that will assist our investigation.

"I am also keen to hear from any drivers who were on the road at the time who have dash-cam footage.

"This footage will also assist our ongoing enquiries into this crash.”
