Man dies after being found injured in east end
A man has died in hospital after being found injured on a street in Glasgow.
He was discovered on Duke Street, near Hunter Street, at 6.45am on Wednesday and taken to the nearby Glasgow Royal Infirmary, but he died a short time later.
Police said he is thought to be in his 20s.
Officers are carrying out inquiries into the circumstances of the death, with the road closed between John Knox Street and Barrack Street.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 6.45am this morning, Wednesday July 1, a man thought to be in his 20s was found seriously injured on Duke Street, near to Hunter Street, Glasgow.
"He was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he died a short time later.
"Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding his death are continuing.
"Duke Street, between Barrack Street and John Knox Street, is closed until further notice.''
