A man has denied shouting sectarian remarks when Rangers fans gathering Glasgow’s George Square.

Jordan King allegedly shouted, swore and made offensive gestures on March 7 this year.

Prosecutors claim the 29-year-old made sectarian remarks aggravated by religious prejudice.

It is also alleged King threw a glass bottle into a large crowd of people to their danger.

Hundreds of Rangers fans gathered in the centre of the city to celebrate sealing the Scottish Premiership title.

The championship was sealed after bitter rivals Celtic drew 0-0 with Dundee United at Tannadice.

King pled not guilty by letter to separate charges of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner as well as culpable and reckless conduct.

The hearing was administratively adjourned and a trial has been fixed for October.

King, of the city’s Thornwood, remains on bail for the matter meantime.
