A man accused of spitting at and pushing a woman during an orange walk in Glasgow has denied the charge.

Darren Thompson, 34, from Drumchapel, pleaded not guilty to assaulting the woman by spitting at her and pushing her on the body at West George Street.

His co-accused forty-five-year-old William Carmichael, from Milton, Glasgow, pled guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to pushing the victim in the city's West George Street on July 6.

Sheriff Alan Mackenzie deferred Carmichael’s sentencing until the outcome of Thompson’s November trial.

Both men were bailed in the meantime.
