Police appeal after Govan stabbing leaves one man critical

We are appealing for information after a man was stabbed in the Govanhill area of Glasgow.

It happened on Boyd Street around 1.30am on Friday, 19 April, 2024.

Emergency services attended and a 25-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and officers are appealing for the public’s help.

Detective Sergeant Stephen Mooney, Cathcart Police Office, said: “I’m appealing to anyone who was in the Boyd Street or Cathcart Road areas in the early hours of this morning, and saw anything that may be of importance, to come forward.

“We know the area wasn’t busy around that time so anything you may have seen could prove vital to our investigation.

“There will be a continued police presence in the area while enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with concerns or information can speak to officers.”
