Man critical after shooting

Saturday night saw a man shot at a house in Glasgow's east end.

A man is in critical condition after a shooting at a house in Glasgow.

Around 8.10 pm last night, Saturday 13th October, two masked men forced their way into a flat in Wellshot Road, Shettleston and shot a 42-year-old man who was inside.

The two masked men then ran out of the flat and into a small dark vehicle car that was parked outside. The injured man was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he is currently being treated for serious injuries. Hospital staff describe his condition as critical.

Detective Inspector Alasdair Barlow who is in charge of this inquiry said:

“We believe that this was not a random attack and that the victim was the intended target, never the less a team of detectives and specialist officers are currently in the area carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident.

“It is vital that we catch those responsible for this despicable act of violence and I appeal to members of the public to come forward with any information, however slight it might appear, in order that we can identify the men involved and hold them accountable for their actions.”

He was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where staff describe his condition as critical.

A police spokesman said: "Police inquiries are currently under way to establish the full circumstances."
