Man in court on murder charge after Hamilton death

A man has appeared in court charged with murder following the death of a man in South Lanarkshire.

Police were called to a property on Holyrood Street, Hamilton, at around 6.45pm on January 26 after the body of James Murray, 24, was discovered.

Alan Richardson, 23, was charged with murder when he appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Friday.

He made no plea and was committed for further examination and remanded in custody
