Man In Court Charged With OAP's Murder

A man has appeared in court charged with murder following the death of a pensioner in Glasgow. Gordon Murphy was found with serious injuries on Ardbeg Street in the Govanhill area in the early hours of Sunday morning and died later in hospital. 42 year old Steven Ryan is charged with carrying out the alleged offence on December 21. Ryan, also from Govanhill, appeared in private yesterday at Glasgow Sheriff Court. He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody. He will appear next week for a full committal hearing.
