A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of another man.

Nico Donnelly, 22, is accused of stabbing 21-year-old Jamie Johnstone and killing him, on January 16.

Prosecutors allege that at 30 Balbeggie Street in Glasgow's Sandyhills area, Donnelly did "repeatedly strike him on the body with a knife or similar instrument".

Donnelly, from Cambuslang, South Lanarkshire, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court where he was represented by Peter Malone.

He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody by sheriff Anthony Deutsch.

Donnelly will appear next week again for a full committal hearing.
