Man charged with assaulting a man later found dead in Clydebank

A 42 year old man has been arrested and charged in connection with assaulting and trying to rob a man who was later found dead in Clydebank.

A 42 year old man has been arrested and charged in connection with assaulting and trying to rob a man who was later found dead in Clydebank.

The body of 49 year old James McGowan was found in Whitecrook's Braes Avenue on the 4th of November and his death's still being treated as unexplained.

Detective Inspector Grant Durie of the Major Investigation Team, said: "We continue to treat Mr McGowan's death as unexplained at this time and are still trying to piece together his movements prior to his death. I am re-iterating my earlier appeal for anyone with information to get in touch."

The man is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday, 22 November 2018 and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
