Man charged after teenager sexually assaulted in Paisley

It happened at a bus shelter on Causeyside Street on Monday evening

A 35-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl in Paisley.

The incident took place at a bus shelter on Causeyside Street around 6.15pm on Monday, 3 February, 2025.

The man is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court at a later date.

Detective Inspector David Tomlinson said: “I’d like to thank everyone who has come forward with information so far.

“I’m still keen to trace two females who spoke to the girl at the bus stop around the time of the incident. I’d urge them to contact us.”

The females, or anyone with any information, should call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3158 of 3 February, 2025.
