Man charged over death of teen in Helensburgh

A man has been charged in connection with the death of a teenager in Helensburgh.

The 30-year-old will appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Monday over the death of Kirk Allan, 19.

Police found the body of Mr Allan when they were called to a home in Johnson Court in the town at 6.25am on Saturday after reports of concern for a person.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them with information related to the teenager's death.

Detective Inspector Steve Martin said: Our thoughts remain with Kirk's family and friends at this very difficult time. Officers will continue to work in and around the community to provide reassurance.

Inquiries are continuing to find out the full circumstances of what happened, in particular Kirk's movements in the days preceding his death, however we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death.''
