Man Charged After Fatal Collision In Stirling

A bin lorry driver has been charged with causing death by careless and inconsiderate driving following a crash with a man in an electric wheelchair last year.

Peter Wills, 80, died at the scene of the incident in Sheriffmuir Road, Dunblane, on December 3.

Police said extensive enquiries'' were carried out into the circumstances of the crash and the 42-year-old driver has now been charged.

He will appear in court later this year.

A police statement said: A 42-year-old man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving following a fatal road traffic collision involving a refuse vehicle in the Sheriffmuir area last year.

This incident resulted in the death of 80-year-old local man Peter Wills.

Extensive enquiries were conducted by the Stirling road policing unit to determine the full circumstances surrounding the collision, which occurred on December 3 2014.

The man will appear in court at a later date.''
