Man charged after £135,000 worth of drugs seized in Glasgow
Officers searched a shipping container in the Westerburn Street area of the city and stopped another vehicle on Westerburn Road.
A 35-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with drugs offences after officers seized £135,000 worth of heroin and cocaine in Glasgow.
They searched a shipping container in the Westerburn Street area of Glasgow yesterday.
They found heroin and cocaine, which had an estimated street value of £83,000.
Also within the container were five quad bikes which are suspected to have been stolen and are undergoing further investigation.
At the same time as the search took place, a vehicle was stopped on Westerhouse Road.
A further quantity of heroin was found with an estimated street value of £52,000.
The driver was suspected of being linked to the container and was arrested at the scene.
The 35-year-old has been charged in connection with drugs offences and was due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today.
Detective Inspector Murray Owen said: “Officers are committed to disrupting the sale and supply of illegal drugs and will continue to do so across Scotland day in, day out.
“I would encourage anyone with information about drug crime in their area to report this to us via 101 so we can investigate thoroughly.”
