A man has been arrested after an estimated £35,000 of ecstasy was found.

Police said a package of the drug was discovered in Denny, Falkirk, in a joint operation involving the Border Force and the National Crime Agency.

The package had been delivered from the Netherlands and was found on Friday.

It contained 990g of ecstasy worth an estimated £29,700. Ecstasy tablets worth £4,840 were also recovered at the property.

Detective Sergeant Forbes Wilson said: "This was an excellent piece of proactive work and shows how effective multi-agency work can be.

"It's always satisfying to get drugs off our streets, particularly when it's a high quantity.''

Police said a 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged and he appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
