Glasgow man caught with indecent images of children as young as two months

A man's been caught with more than 19 hours of indecent footage of children as young as two-months-old.

Dylan McCarron's home in Glasgow's Springburn was raided by police on August 16, 2024.

Officers seized a mobile phone which revealed images of "child sexual exploitation."

Prosecutor Jenny Reid told Glasgow Sheriff Court that a total of 2,284 still and moving images were found.

Miss Reid added: "These were of male and female children aged between two months and 15-years-old.

"The videos' run time was 19 hours, 45 minutes and four seconds."

McCarron was also found to have shared indecent images of children using apps such as Telegram.

He was noted to have sent a message saying: "Real kids are so freaking hot."

A further 62 images of "extreme pornography" were uncovered on the device which included sexual activity a "human corpse" and a mutilated dog.

McCarron pleaded guilty today to taking or permitting to be taken indecent photographs of children.

He also admitted possession of indecent photographs and possession of extreme pornography.

Sentence was deferred pending background reports until next month pending background reports by Sheriff Joan Kerr who continued McCarron's remand in custody meantime.
