Man's body recovered from river Clyde

Police divers have recovered a man's body from the River Clyde. The emergency services received reports of two men in the water near Blantyre Mill Road in Bothwell, South Lanarkshire, at about 10.10pm on Friday.

One of the men managed to get out of the water by himself and did not need medical treatment.

A search was launched for the second man, and divers recovered the body of a 30-year-old at around 3am on Saturday.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal
