Man who Battered Wife with Rolling Pin Jailed
A man who battered his wife with a rolling pin has been jailed for three years. A judge told Alan O'Donnell he was guilty of a "brutal and prolonged" attack in February last year. O'Donnell lashed out at his wife during an incident at her home in Yoker, Glasgow. The 46 year-old was sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow. He had previously been convicted of assault having initially faced a charge of attempted murder at the High Court in Greenock. Lady Rae told him: "No remorse has been shown for what happened. "It has been suggested that this is a lesson learned, but I am not sure how that can be when you accept no guilt." The judge also noted O'Donnell, of the city's Drumchapel, had a previous conviction for a domestic breach of the peace. O'Donnell showed no emotion as he was lead handcuffed to the cells to begin his sentence.
