All are believed to have been in possession of bottles or similar items.
Detective Constable Jennifer Carey from Shettleston CID said: “This was a completely unprovoked attack on an innocent man who was simply minding his own business and waiting to get on a bus.
“Edinburgh Road would have been busy with passing motorists at the time and I would urge anyone who may have witnessed what happened to get in touch.
“I would also ask anyone who may have seen three youths matching the above descriptions acting suspiciously in the area to come forward as you may have information that could assist us in tracking them down.
“Anyone with information can contact officers at Shettleston CID via 101 or alternatively you can call CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence.”
