Man attacked outside Glasgow restaurant

A 43 year old is in hospital after being seriously assaulted on Union Street in the early hours Sunday 5 August.

Around 2.30 am the victim was attacked outside the Calabash Restaurant.

The 43 year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he was treated for his injuries.

The suspect is described as being Asian in his early to mid-20s, around 5ft 10 and of slim build with black hair. He was wearing a red sports style zip up top.

Detective Constable Victoria Shanley, Stewart Street Police Office, said:

'We are appealing to anyone who was in Glasgow city centre in the early hours of this morning who may have seen something that can help us with our investigation.

'At this point we don't know why the attack happened and therefore any small piece of information may be able to help us.

'Our officers are checking CCTV and speaking to those in the area where the attack took place but want to speak to anyone who may have been nearby at the time.'
