A man's being treated for a serious head injury after being attacked by a gang of four men in in Bishopton in Renfrewshire late at night on Sunday 1st May.

Police found the 34-year-old in Greenock Road at 9.45pm after he had been attacked with a weapon and had to be taken by ambulance crews to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses but say they've already established there were four men involved in the incident who fled the scene in a car.

Grey hoodies

The first suspect is described as in his 20s, of slim build, with short dark hair.

He was wearing a grey hooded top with white inside the hood, a black gilet, black bottoms and black trainers with a white sole.

The second suspect is described as in his 20’s, tall, of slim build, with a shaved head.

He was wearing a grey hooded top, grey/khaki jacket, dark jeans, and white trainers.

There is currently no descriptions for the other two men.

Witness appeal

Detective Constable James Campbell said: "This incident saw a man sustain a serious head injury and it is vital we trace those involved.

"I am appealing for anyone with any information which may assist us to get in touch.

"I would also ask anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dash cam footage to contact us."
