Police have condemned a gang attack on a man in the back garden of a house in Glasgow.
Officers say the 34-year-old was seriously injured in the incident in the Springburn area at about 3.50pm on Thursday.
Four men arrived at the property in Springburn Way in a dark-coloured car, leaving it in the residents' car park.
Their victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment and has since been discharged.
Detective Constable Andrew Barbour from Maryhill CID said: "This type of violent behaviour is completely unacceptable and officers are carrying out extensive door-to-door and CCTV inquiries to trace those responsible.
"We know that there were members of the public around the area at the time and are appealing for people to please come forward, whether you have seen the assault take place or the vehicle used by the suspects.
"Our inquiries have so far shown a large volume of private and commercial vehicles travelling along the street at the time, so please review any dashcam footage and contact Police Scotland.''
Three of the suspects returned to the car after the attack, and it was driven off at speed in the direction of Atlas Road. The other man fled on foot in the same direction.
Police Scotland have issued a description of three of the suspects, with one described as being white, of medium build and bare chested, wearing black trousers and black trainers. The second man is white and was wearing a black hooded top and cap, while the third is also white, and was wearing a Nike T-shirt and shorts.
