A 20 year old man who was walking into Soar at Intu to go snowboarding was assaulted by a man who was hanging about outside, along with two women.

The suspect then left without the women in a black saloon private hire vehicle.

The man he attacked was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was treated for an eye injury before being allowed home.

The suspect is described as white, mid 20’s and 6ft tall. He was wearing a black hooded top, black jogging bottoms, black baseball cap and grey training shoes.

Detective Constable Richard Grant at Johnstone CID said:

“This would appear to be a totally unprovoked attack which has left the young man with a serious eye injury.

“The area around Braehead was very busy at the time the assault took place and I urge anyone who witnessed the incident who hasn’t already spoken to police to contact us immediately.”

Anyone who has any information that could help us trace the man responsible is asked to contact Johnstone CID via telephone number 101.
