Man assaulted by two other men in Glasgow city centre

An appeal for information has been launched after an assault which took place in Glasgow City Centre.

Around 9pm on Friday 3 November 2017 an 18-year-old man was assaulted outside a McDonald’s Restaurant, near Glasgow Central Station, on Argyle Street.

Two men approached the man and after exchanging a few words punched him, causing him to stumble backwards onto the ground.

They continued to punch and kick the man in the head, at which time a crowd had gathered.

The victim and two witnesses managed to break free and run off before contacting police.

The man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where we was treated for his injuries and has since been released.

The first suspect is described as 5ft 9, of slim build, in his early 20’s and was wearing a dark hoodie and a baseball cap at the time of the incident.

The second suspect was wearing a dark coloured top and red trousers.

Officers have been gathering any relevant CCTV footage and are appealing to witnesses to help with enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Alan Moir of Glasgow City Centre Police Office, said: 'This was a violent attack on an 18 year-old lad who had been enjoying a night out at a concert in Glasgow City Centre.

'The assault took place in a busy area of the city with people coming and going to the McDonalds Restaurant and Glasgow Central Station.

'We would ask members of the public who were in the area and perhaps seen the incident to come forward. Think back, you may have seen something that can help us.

'We would appeal to anyone with any information to contact us.'
