Man Assaulted By Gang In Paisley
Police are hunting three men who assaulted and robbed a man while he was sitting on a bench.
The attack happened in Love Street, Paisley, at around 3.50pm yesterday.
The 37-year-old man was on a bench when he was approached by the group of three who assaulted him and stole his mobile phone.
The trio then separated and made off towards Blythswood Drive and Wallace Street.
The victim was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in the town and released after treatment.
Two of the men are white, aged in their 20s and 6ft. One has neck-length dark hair and was wearing a light blue tracksuit top and blue jeans.
The second has short fair hair and was wearing a light grey or blue hooded top, light blue jeans and a light T-shirt which had blood stains on it.
There is no description of the third man.
Detective Constable Chris Nedley said: "We are currently carrying out inquiries into this incident and gathering CCTV in an effort to gain further information on this incident and the men responsible.
"At this time I would urge anyone who was in the area of Love Street at the time of incident, who may have witnessed something suspicious, to please get in contact.
"Our inquiries are ongoing and we are analysing available CCTV and conducting door-to-door inquiries, however, given the time of day at which the incident took place we are hoping there may be more witnesses who have yet to come forward.''
