54-year old man attacked in Motherwell as he has his car stolen
A 54-year old man's in a stable condition in hospital after he was assaulted and had his car stolen in Motherwell in the early hours of this morning.
He was attacked on Merry Street near to Newcraig Road at 4am.
Emergency services attended and the victim was taken to Wishaw General Hospital before being transferred to Hairmyres Hospital for treatment to serious facial injuries.
Medical staff describe his condition as stable.
Detective Constable Colin Sharp from Wishaw CID said: 'Enquiries are at an early stage to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area in the early hours of this morning and may have witnessed what happened, or noticed anything suspicious, to please come forward.
