Man arrested after police officers 'attacked with bladed weapon' in Wishaw

The officers suffered serious injuries in the incident on Sunday night

A man has been arrested after two police officers were seriously injured in Wishaw.

The men, who are both in their twenties, suffered serious head and hand injuries respectively.

Both injuries were allegedly caused by a bladed weapon.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and police inquiries are ongoing.

It happened in Greenfield Drive at around 11pm on Sunday.

The officers were taken to University Hospital Wishaw, where their condition is described as stable.

Officers were returning a 10-year-old boy to an address in Greenfield Drive when it’s claimed they were attacked by the man.
