A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a number of incidents involving alleged laser attacks in the Drumchapel area.
An aircraft and police vehicles appeared to be targeted, between February and March 2016.
ACC Mark Williams from Police Scotland, said today: “Laser attacks are extremely dangerous with potentially devastating consequences. “The effects of a laser attack within an aircraft or vehicle can dazzle and distract the crew or driver – it can even cause temporary blindness. Luckily, on these occasions no harm was caused, however, the potential for catastrophe, in the air or on the road, should not be underestimated.
“People need to realise the dangers of such reckless behaviour. It’s an offence we take extremely seriously and officers will be relentless in their pursuit of those individuals who put the lives of others at risk.
“Anyone with information regarding laser attack incidents can contact police via the non-emergency number 101.”
