The blaze was set at Bishopbriggs Cultural Centre in Auchinairn Road in the East Dunbartonshire town at about 2.15am on November 17 last year.
No-one was injured but thousands of pounds of damage was caused to the building.
Police said on Thursday that a 41-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
He has been detained in police custody and is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday.
