Man arrested in connection with Hamilton shooting

A 25-year old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Hamilton on Monday afternoon.

Police investigating the shooting of two men in a targeted attack have made an arrest.

A 25-year-old man is being held in connection with the incident which happened on a footpath between Millgate Road and Westwood Crescent in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, at about 2.30pm on Monday.

A 26-year-old man sustained injuries to his head, face and chest while another man, aged 27, was being treated for head and facial injuries.

Both were said to be in a ''serious but stable'' condition.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal and the man is expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.
