Man arrested and charged in connection with Cook Street bus crash

Seven people were injured after the double decker hit a railway bridge

A 57-year-old man has been arrested following an investigation into a crash on on Cook Street in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called at around 5.55pm on Saturday, 14 December, 2024 to reports of a First Bus colliding with a railway bridge.

One woman, aged 52, and five men, aged 30, 32, 33, 33 and 41 suffered minor injuries and a 60-year-old man was left in critical condition.

The man has been charged in connection with road traffic offences .

He has been released on an undertaking and will appear in court at a later date.

In May 2023 another First Bus double decker drove into the same railway bridge, injuring at least ten people.
