Man arrested after controlled explosion in Milton area of Glasgow

A man has been arrested after a bomb disposal team carried out a controlled explosion in Glasgow.
Police found suspicious items when they searched a property in Liddesdale Square, Milton, on Wednesday night as part of an ongoing inquiry.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) experts were called in and carried out a controlled explosion after safely removing the items from the address.
Police said a 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
A police spokesman said: "Police Scotland carried out a search at an address in Liddesdale Square, Glasgow, on Wednesday night as part of an ongoing enquiry.
"Officers found items which required Explosive Ordnance Disposal EOD assessment and the area was cordoned off as a precaution.
"EOD attended and the items were safely removed before a controlled explosion was carried out.''
He added: "A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection.
"Officers remain in attendance at the property.''
